when a flower wants to thank the sun perhaps it thinks

maybe I should become a mountain

before offering a handful of forest

and don’t many in love

think of much more that chocolates

to give a mysterious matchmaker

like fate? humor being the wealth of a clown a very happy one delivers God an out-of-this-world joke and

it’s thrown back like a bucket of water washes off his makeup and leaves

a nakedness no one is supposed to see

what I’m trying to say is

there are some places

gratitude can’t reach

no matter how hard we try
