I love the stories
a good fire tells
the animated exaggerated far-fetched
spoken with wide tongues of flame
pops and snaps for side effects
and some smoky dialog
thrown into the face
the eyes turn from
though at the end of the night
the last one begins more like
a secret to lean in to
told more slowly and softly
perhaps an ancient clue
a peek into a mystery
which for some reason
for some other impatient need
I never stay to hear revealed
