Head over Heals - Dec. 17, 2021

we've been moving our fingers

around the world's map

pausing a nail here

a knuckle there

using a slide ruler

of happiness to check

the distance between

where we are now

and where we want to be

a couple old farts

in search of sea views

and beach strolls

sun-filled days and warm

twinkling nights to hold us

perhaps

to help us remember

what it's like

to fall in love again
