My Easter Sermon - March 31, 2024

a jackpot rainbow!

see it early yesterday?

ribbons of glorious joy

added to my soul’s wealth

easily comprehended

as the play of sun on rain

just a simple mystery

for such a great return

while today marks

an emergence eons ago

from darkness and dirt

one life rising out of a grave

so incomprehensible

I fall back to yesterday’s

tiny enigma of color bands

bridging the mountain

perhaps like the chocolate

bunnies and colored eggs

the kids turn to when that

miracle is too large to swallow

it’s also White party weekend

and I hear Ralph’s

is selling out six-packs

thank God I don’t drink
