Oceans Spit me Out - Jan. 6, 2024

I like lakes over oceans

lapping over crashing

walkable bottoms  shallows

and soft shores  adore mist

on large quiet mirrors

and moon-sized crystal balls

clear and steady in the

measureless darkness

I enjoy fish that nibble dangling toes

curious ones that approach

then flipturn on their bravery

I can slip into a lake

and have noticed oceans

like to spit me out

oh and the mystery

sunrise over a lagoon

the single call of a loon

forgetting to breathe
