I love winks impish playful

smirks and sneers feel like a slap of bad breath

a frown I’ll try to relax

with a comeback cushion of words

the stare and open mouth is a

double shock their look and

my honesty sometimes overdue

but a wide curl of the lips

with some sparkle in the eyes

that’s hard-to-fake happiness

like the first cookie from the pan

just two minutes out

from the sound

of the oven door’s gentle slam
